Each community incorporates well-planned commercial spaces, adding vibrance to each neighbourhood, fostering a sense of connection and convenience for residents.

With over 35 years of experience, and more than 7,000 homes crafted, our mission remains clear: to deliver lasting value that enriches our homeowners’ daily lives. We call it the Vesta Value: and it’s our promise to you.

From humble beginnings to industry leader

A legacy of innovation and growth

1988

Early projects focused on retirement homes on Vancouver Island before expanding into single-family homes in Surrey. Even in a challenging market, the first home sale marked the start of steady growth.

1991

The management team expanded to include Dennis, and the company expanded into larger-scale single-family communities, focusing on creating building systems to allow it to scale further.

1994

Increased scope to include land development and multi-family projects.

2000

Kent Sillars and Dennis Wiemken launched Vesta Properties Ltd. to expand into Alberta and pursue large, multi-phase, master-planned communities. The company launched its first master-planned community in Alberta—Airdrie’s Stoney Creek—setting the stage for continued growth and partnerships.

2003

Vesta launched its first master-planned community in BC—Provinceton in Surrey. The project followed the successful model established in Alberta of offering multiple different housing types over several phases.

2003

Vesta opened its first office in Airdrie, Alberta, transitioning from its previous site-based offices.

2004

Vesta opened its first office in Airdrie, Alberta, transitioning from its previous garage-based workspace.

2008–2014

The global financial crisis and declining oil prices slowed the real estate market, temporarily impacting Vesta’s growth.

2010

Tier Construction Ltd. was established, joining the Vesta group of companies as a vertically integrated civil construction division, delivering roads and servicing infrastructure for Vesta’s communities across BC.

2013–2018

Vesta assembled 75 acres in Langley, BC, and planned the largest mixed-use master-planned community in the city’s history.

2020

The pandemic and historically low interest rates triggered a real estate boom. Vesta was well positioned to capitalize, supported by its large master-planned communities in Alberta and the Fraser Valley.

2021

Vesta continued expanding its presence in BC with master-planned communities including Provinceton, Milner Heights, and Latimer Heights. In Langley, Latimer Heights became the city’s largest development, featuring 2,000 homes, 15 acres of green space, and a mix of residential, commercial, and office uses.

2022

Vesta’s internal systems development team was formally spun off to establish Pluto Systems Ltd., which joined the Vesta group of companies as a standalone business focused on developing and delivering software solutions for the real estate development industry.

2025 (Present)

Today, Vesta is preparing to launch two major Calgary developments: Broadway on 17th, a multi-tower residential community in the downtown core; Aspen Village, a Scandinavian-inspired neighbourhood in Southwest Calgary; Kingsview, a 225-acre residential community near Duncan, BC; and Fraser View, a community of exclusive single-family homes overlooking the Fraser River in the Fraser Heights area of Surrey. Together, these projects mark the next phase of Vesta’s growth.
