Fun things to do in Calgary this February near Copperstone

If you live in Vesta’s Copperstone community, it’s time to come out of hibernation.
February is a busy month around Calgary, with all kinds of events and festivals happening close to home. Venture out, be inspired, and feel the spring vibes.
From well-established wine festivals to fun family day activities, here are five exciting events happening in Calgary this month.
1.
Feb. 16 – Winter Family Fest
Spend the afternoon enjoying the great outdoors with your loved ones at South Glenmore Park in Calgary. Winter Family Fest is an all-ages Family Day weekend event with something for everyone: fire pits and marshmallows, a live DJ, and a variety of creative activities. Snowshoe rentals are also available.

Feb. 21 & 22 – Winefest Calgary
Swirl, sip and savour wines from around the globe at Stampede Park. Winefest Calgary guests will not only have the opportunity to sample an array of wines and delectable hors d’oeuvres, but they’ll also be contributing to a good cause. Winefest is once again collecting non-perishable food and funds for the Calgary Food Bank and will make every donation go further by contributing $1 for every pound of food donated. Last year, Winefest raised $2,329 and collected 265 pounds of food to help those in need.

Feb. 23. The Wizards Beer Festival
The most magical beer festival of the year featuring local DJs, tarot card readers, and potion making classes takes place this month at Vagabond Calgary near Copperstone. Tickets include a 12 oz. welcome beer and five tokens that can be used at various beer and activity stations. Don’t forget to wear your robes and gowns for a chance to win some amazing prizes.

Feb. 24-29 Calgary Midwinter Bluesfest
It’s time to warm up Calgary’s cold winter nights with some red-hot blues. Taking place at multiple venues around the city, this impressive music festival will feature a vocal camp, a guitar workshop, a blues history lesson, and three nights of concerts starring some of Canada’s best blues musicians including Romi Mayes, Amos Garrett, and Julian Kerr.

Feb. 28 – Spring Madness Festival
Looking for some inspiration when it comes to your spring beverage selections and meal pairings? With fresh and flavourful beers, lighter, brighter, more vibrant wines, and fun cocktails, the Spring Madness Festival at Coop Wine Spirits Beer in Calgary is designed to get you into the spring fever vibe.
