40th Avenue Interchange in Airdrie is a GO!
October 15, 2020
Vesta is excited by Premier Kenney and Transportation Minister Ric McIver’s announcement of $21.1M of provincial funding to build the 40th Avenue Interchange along the Queen Elizabeth II Highway in Airdrie. Mayor Peter Brown also confirmed that the City of Airdrie will be allocating another $62M to the estimated $83M project slated to begin in Q1 2021. “Vesta’s Southpoint community is ideally situated adjacent to the overpass and will be an attractive choice for Airdrie residences that commute to Calgary. Its location at 40th Ave is ideal and one of the reasons we bought the land 7 years ago, and the reason we’ve been working so closely with the city and province the last few years to secure the lands required on the west side of the highway”, says Kent Sillars, President of Vesta Properties. “As a member of the Airdrie community, Vesta is pleased with the timing of the announcement. Getting the news out that the overpass is a go, should attract new business and jobs to the city and in the overall scheme of things – the timing couldn’t be better”, adds Sillars.
